COVID-19 POLICY

COVID-19

At The Peri Group we have put in many new COVID secure procedures to help keep your children and our team safe.

To ensure that everyone remains safe and healthy during music lessons, we have made some small adjustments to our provision. All lessons will be taught in a socially distanced manner where possible and all teachers have the use of a plastic screen where appropriate. Where pupils are having paired lessons, these will always be taken with another pupil from their year group to maintain the integrity of the pods set within school. In the event that a partner is not available for your child, an individual 15 minute lesson will be given. All shared instruments (Keyboard and drums) will be wiped down thoroughly between lessons and pupils are expected to bring their own instrument (Guitar and woodwind) or sticks where appropriate. Singing will only take place on a one to one basis in line with the latest DfE guidance.

We would like to inform you of our current situation with the coronavirus and the partial closures of some schools. If lessons can not happen at school, we do have a couple of options.

Firstly, we would like to offer your child an opportunity to continue their learning through lessons online. We have put in place alternative provision by introducing video call lessons over lockdown. These have already taken place and been highly successful. These can take place on either FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom, Teams or Skype. To participate in these lessons, your child will need their own instrument, and access to one of the above apps. Ideally we would ask for your child to participate on the days that their lessons would have taken place, however, if those days do not work for you, please let us know and we’ll try sort a time/day that works best for you and the music teacher.

In addition to this, if you need a copy of the sheet music we are using, please email admin@theperigroup.com for a copy of this. Please can you let us know the best phone number to get hold of you on for online lessons.

If your child does not wish to or can not continue online, we are happy to either amend your invoice for this term, or carry over any missed lessons into the next half term if you have paid already.

Finally, we would like to thank you for your continued support. We understand that this is an uncertain time however, it is our hope that with some continuity in music lessons, it might make life a little more structured and enjoyable for everyone at home.
